The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 姐弟部分的内容怪怪的 不过插叙那部分还是有点触动
前半段很BBC流水账，后半段的气质完全变了，叙事的节奏舒缓下来，开始进行精神世界的展现，猫的指代也才显现出来。
其实拍的有点复杂了，但还是能在说到孤独的那个点时泪崩，本尼真的演得好
7分。英国著名插画家路易斯·韦恩的故事。古怪的插画家，别人画狗，他偏画猫。娶了地位“低下”的家庭教师，而且妻子还比他大好多岁。他和妻子的幸福小日子没过几年，妻子生病去世。家里六个姐妹都嫁不出去，他也再未娶妻，一直养着六姐妹。虽然画猫成名却入不敷出，生活贫穷，更因为怀念妻子而变得郁郁寡欢、十分痛苦。晚年似乎有些精神问题，笔下的猫变得非常奇特。总的来说并不是“激情人生”，除了绘画的时候，更多的是抑郁。服装不错，有的画面很美。

对人物不够了解 不像一般的传记片的节奏和叙事 对于怪诞这一点突出的也没有很鲜明 但表演和爱情故事却很出彩 几个镜头也美的不像话 故事非常中心化 和其他角色以及社会的相互影响反而有些脱离了地面 是很有趣的传记片却没有什么记忆点

在看过本尼那么多电影之后，我在这部电影中突然反应过来，其实他擅长的不是演天才，而是演孤独，各种与时代格格不入的孤独。难怪他不怎么接爱情戏，两个人的爱情戏真是他的弱点，但是一个人的爱情戏却是他的强项，因为只有一个人的爱是会让人发疯的孤独。
