The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. Darren and Annie still enjoy each other’s company and laugh at each other’s jokes, but, unfortunately, they can’t remember the last time they had sex. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. The deal: one night of freedom, no strings attached, no questions asked. Could a freebie be the cure for their ailing sex life? And will they go through with it? 人物塑造和心里成长都描写出来了，世界观也讲的很明白，而且在那么多年之后技术更加成熟，特效更加耀眼，给这十几年的EVA新剧场版画了一个完美的句号。
初号机和13号机打斗，冲撞幕布，破坏摄影棚一场，一如《楚门的世界》结尾Truman的谢幕，又如《地心引力》结尾Ryan从河滩边艰难地站起，泥水打湿镜头，唯有此类强力的对抗才能冲破母体的束缚，是谓补完，是谓真正的新生。TV版的补完的落点是一个蹩脚的哲学问题，且没有辩白的野心，徒留无力感；真心为你的补完以TV版和Air的意淫为跳板，彻底沦为一部融合了各种元素的Porn，它当然不是完满的，欲望的沟底还是欲望，虚无的尽头还是虚无。
这是一部让庵野导演回归起点的作品。
能说什么呢？反正没办法理智打分吧！结尾走出车站回归现实，起身完成这场盛大的告别，太戳人了，虽然靠嘴炮打赢BOSS战，可那一幕幕都是回忆，不仅是真嗣的回忆，还有我们的回忆。抛开宗教，认真生活永远是EVA要表达的，AT立场抵不过一次握手
体会到了比《真心为你》螺旋式上升的复杂情绪，难以言喻的震撼和感动。

我很喜欢这个电影标题，感觉特别优雅，用乐谱的符号来双关。首先可以当做「:」是冒号，而「│▌」只是用终止符来表示这是系列的最后一作了。其次可以当做「:│▌」是一个整体，这是重复乐章的符号。感觉在双重解读中留了一手。
那个十几年来令人受够了的逃避君终于贡献出了他成熟的一面。

我看不懂，我也没受震撼。但是儿子长大了，老子原来这么幼稚，这说得过去么？
“真恶心”，全面缩回保守外壳，沦落为旗帜鲜明的日常保卫，不应当是这样。
没了剧集里的日常建立起对人物的感情，只给出关键脉络，没有基础的观众难以找到情感落点，这样的剧场版终究无法独立成章。
