The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 这本子不错，特别是悬疑部分，层层推进，非线性、碎片化地追溯和拼凑过去。高潮部分Mae对杀手倾诉的桥段很有灵性，信任与爱让她打破时空的桎梏，与狼叔完成爱的告别。

终究还是爱情胜过一切，永远的停留在那最炽烈，最浓情的一刻，没有世俗打搅，没有现实浇冷水，最朴素的愿望。让爱情保留那一刻的美妙弧光，毕竟人人都知道，顶峰过去后就是深渊的现实。那一刻的隽永确实令人迷醉，不断的重复，最后还是挠到我的泪腺，让我写下这段话。故事一般，就是为了爱情这一刻的弧光，写的整个剧本吧。这一刻击穿屏幕，击溃了我的心，值得五星，能以点破面的片子都值得赞赏。PS：狼叔声音太性感啦！！！太爱跨越记忆，跨越时空对话的感觉了，爱死了。让我想起了《上海堡垒》，也是为了一段话写了整个故事“这条短信在中国移动的信号台之间穿梭，找不到它的目的地，就像是永不消逝的电波，穿行在空无一人的城市里。我想象着在那个沉眠于地下的城市里，那条短信是个虚无飘渺的女孩”

一开始以为是西部世界host再就业；一切都是天气之子的错（确信）；原来英文里夹中文跟中文里夹英文一样招人烦，是我从未设想过的道路了（大彻大悟成就get√）；真的不是烂片，也是真的连6分我也打不出来。

更像是为了科幻而布置的悬疑片。。悬疑成分乏善可陈。。。构图布景是真的好
有点乱。一段段的回忆没顺序，再加上我不是一次看完的。三星吧。
电影空有概念，叙事却不严谨。男女主的感情线很不明朗，却硬说两人感情深刻。

【6.0】第一幕还是挺吸引人的，到第二幕的时候剧情节奏就开始出问题了，bug也逐步显露，好在第三幕男女主的情感戏分拉回了点好感。整体属于那种空有高概念，却执行得不佳的科幻片。

影片真心不太行，角色全员降智，动机成迷，一直在靠着演员支撑。故事有个非常大的背景，但完全真沦为了背景板，海洋侵入陆地，官商与民众的关系，这些内容基本上都在给男女主的爱情让路，最后的缉凶也毫无亮点。影片还给了个高概念，通过仪器达到五感的记忆回溯，原本以为影片会像《少数派报告》一样，通过记忆中的层层细节，不断的推导出事实真相，结果只是通过不断看别人记忆，以双线叙事方式交代女主过往，悬疑度和解谜快感全无，也特别不能理解，为何男主看了女主一眼就能爱得死去活来，对身边那么好的女助手视而不见。男主的行为也特别不能理解，明知危险，还经常去送人头，要靠女助手救，反派也要绕那么一大圈偷东西，好尴尬啊。最后那场被修改的俄尔普斯神话，点明了主题，这就是一场得不到的爱情。另，吴彦祖太客串了，去掉这条线也不影响故事。
评分好低啊，本质是个硬汉派侦探故事。我不喜欢硬汉派小说但还蛮喜欢硬汉派小说改编的电影，尤其是Film Noir那套美学套在未来水世界的科幻世界观上，氛围很棒。故事就太没劲了，金刚狼扮演靠观看他人回忆来破案的侦探。吴彦祖演了个黑帮老大，一句英文里加一个中文词真是太怪了……冷硬派侦探小说常常能蹦出海明威式金句，这部电影里男女主人公也有这样一段我很喜欢的对话：“跟我讲一个Happy Ending的故事吧”“这世上没有Happy Ending的故事，过程越甜蜜，结尾越苦涩”“那就跟我讲一个故事，然后让它停留在中间”……
丽莎·乔伊作为诺兰的弟妹，在自己执导的作品中满不了会带有一点诺兰家族的叙事元素。而我们也能在影片的背景设置和叙事上看得出一点端倪。
