The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 小反转和幽默的点都很对，可细节处理得实在是一言难尽，要是带点脑子的话有些情节漏洞太大。这个剧本或许只在结构上下了功夫，一些场景的逻辑实在难说。范伟和窦骁的演技很对让片子没有太烂。但也没有什么出彩的地方，中规中矩的反转喜剧。
这种叙事结构已经不稀奇了，但整体节奏把握得还不错，有些巧合点实在有些强行，就比如张总和小马同村认识那一段-_-有些场景拍得还挺赞，比如小孩子们蒙着眼唱歌那一段-_-演员的表演还是挺加分的，私心为这种国产小制作加一颗⭐
不断的反转，剧本杀，狭小空间，悬疑。
原来想看首映，结果西安疫情反复没看成，结果现在在电视机顶盒看了。不断利用空白时间段添加新悬疑的套路，几乎所有反转都是建立在观众并没有掌握的信息基础之上的。回溯式叙事，这个形容比较恰当，毕竟它玩非线性叙事和巧合不如《11:14》这种。没有惊喜，但还可以看。本土化处理也说得过去。喜剧是谈不上的，你不能说范伟主演就是喜剧吧。
虽然结尾慢慢成了闹剧，但是剪辑手法还算讲究，一个一个悬念展开，感觉还是蛮有意思的。
和狗狗一起躺在床上看完。今天是勤劳的一天，把屋子收拾了一遍，然后一天就过了。晚上去路口接了二姐，她带了周黑鸭回来，一起吃了两盒。晚上突然降温，明日就是小雪了。节气这东西，可真准。
影片的前一个小时节奏把握得比较差，窦骁和张颂文的表演和台词在这种节奏下非常容易让人出戏，直到后面二人组出场，节奏才慢慢步入正轨。
（还行吧，反转挺多的，猜不透。剧情不算很严谨，人物动因多少有点勉强。叙事不是线性的，不断地切换视角再来一遍。）
密室剧本杀，不断闪回反转，但设计感还是太重了些，看到后面会有为反转而反转的刻意感。对于小场景来说人物有点多了
看起来还是不错的，虽然有点过于巧合但是整体有喜剧氛围显得还是可以接受的，不过喜剧的点穿插的稍有些生硬。整体完成度不错，节奏也挺好，还是挺值得一看的。
低成本密室剧本杀电影，还可以的处女作，但是剧本链接略刻意，逻辑有硬伤。
看得出导演受昆汀影响挺大，不过倘若在叙事方式上直接借用章回体分段叙事，效果会更好，现在呈现出来的叙事效果就像是一部电影被倒放了四次。

故事吊足了胃口，虽然有些地方没有交代清楚，不过总体完整性够了，可以可以
6.5分。其实是一部很不错的舞台剧，可惜导演的控制力不够，又加入了很多倒叙插叙的设计，导致观感不太好。整理起来的各类反转本应很有力，但现在却变得有些突兀了。如果最后是全灭可能会更好一些。
其实就是利用编剧和观众不对等的信息差加上打乱时间线来讲故事，但因为大家还是自己，所以严格意义上没悬疑什么事。故事很简单，要填充地太多所以显得松散。窦骁最后把头发撸到后面那里也太帅了吧！给前女友看看就没这些事了吧
额……实在不知道好在哪……但是也说不上太差……反正是快进着看了……
黑色幽默看多的话，对这类诸多巧合之作就不觉得惊艳了。饶是知道他不断反转，也不愿高潮强推情感的骚操作。觉得人物的性格不够鲜明，模糊于故事本身，逻辑便也不那么清晰了。
《不速来客》与《扬名立万》有异曲同工之妙。密室空间，悬疑犯罪，略带喜剧，这个类型越来越有看头...可惜我们小城市之前拍片太少，没去影院看成
剧本杀版《疯狂的石头》，全员演技在线，值得一看。
