The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 田中圭，多演爹吧，谢。美女都很美。如果那个女人是十元，倒是也可以理解那几个怨种老公……故事真的土到了。日本人好爱结婚。
蛮好看的，有感动到，女主前期造型更好一些，烫头发老气了点没那么灵动就，演技不错啦，为（剧情强行合理化）妈妈（阻止父女相认）的行为减去一颗⭐
虽然哭着看完了，但是真的不能细想的奇怪亲情片。以及最后嫁的这个老公真的大丈夫吗？？？
3.5分吧。虽然剧情确实有点不真实，但是不影响剧情感人，卡司演技都在线！整部电影不管是配乐还是调色，以及镜头的取景，都让人看着很舒服。美工组和道具组真的很不错👍

看到一半才领悟故事线。没想到最后面的部分才是感人的地方。原本以为十元只是个不想养小孩的懒惰妈妈，结果最后完全被感动到。

设定有点意思，Karen Gillan的冷面喜剧笑果还是很强的！
整体剧情还是很梦幻很戏剧
只有日本才可能出现的故事，女主不仅有三个爸两个妈，还个个都是极品的大好人，活脱脱一出成人童话，这样的故事放在电影中还好，但现实中要是发生这种事，稍微想想就让人血压拉满，只能说电影细节还行，但放到整体上很别扭
前面还好，后面就感觉怎么这么长啊……不知道是不是因为冈田本人的原因，现在看他就觉得很是腻……

3.7 【反復】不错，很抓观影者。全场哭的稀里哗啦，从毕业典礼那边开始动容。（好看真的好看，妆容和服装设计真的好看，当然也仿佛没有跳出那几位本人的“人设/设定”）
6.5分。电影有点闷，或者说编导存心把画面调得比较闷，一个毫无怜悯心的，漠然的世界，这点还是不错的。我原本以为电影着重的应该是本体和克隆人之间的相处，可结果电影里却花了大量篇幅去讲女主的所谓训练？？但就当我以为故事会这么发展到残杀的时候，又突然转回来描绘两人之间的关系了？？可最后却又变成了毒杀？？？总感觉有那么点为了转折而转折的味道。最后的女主无论算是本体还是算是克隆体都能说的通，就看你是咋想的了。
