The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 看乏了，各种炮弹、各种被炸死，还有一些莫名其妙为了煽情、烘托人物形象的英雄主义的牺牲…

延续了歌舞片的逻辑、表现方法（主角年龄、反派反串）和转折方式，但歌舞被精简到了近乎于无（而且也大多以长镜头为主），于是叙事就显得有些别扭了。
女主作为一个被拐卖进妓院的人，还能帮其他老鸨去劝一个同样被拐卖进妓院的14岁女孩接客。

優點與缺陷都和《長津湖》一樣多。編劇、道具、特效、運鏡，處處能看出中國電影工業長足的進步。也許是抗美援朝這場戰爭對我們的意義過於宏大和深沉，作為商業電影已容不下太多令人驚喜的藝術表達空間，而不禁令人在漫長觀影中感到一絲疲憊與沉悶。什麼時候才可以看到講述被俘在聯合國軍戰俘營中的志願軍的故事？相信那時候的我，雙眼更會飽含熱淚。
