Arkham, 1975: Jonathan Davis' father has disappeared. His tracks lead to Germany, to the Swabian-Franconian Forest where he was stationed after the Second World War. brutashell review - 'Filmed in black and white and primarily spoken in German, it is obvious that Die Farbe did not have a huge budget to work with. Effects are minimal and the cast is utterly unknown. I should point out that these are all good things, and work very much in the film's favour. There is no CGI to rely on, no name actors to carry it. Rather, the filmmakers do the unthinkable: they create a genuine atmosphere of unimaginable dread and unspeakable horror, using shadow, suggestion and rare splashes of that Nameless colour in a few select frames. In short, they did a damn good job. Die Farbe is subtle in its mounting horror, nurturing a dark dread deep in your bowels with every shot. All of the best and most stomach-turningly distressing films I’ve ever seen have come out of Germany: M, The Cabinet Of Dr. Caligari, The White Ribbon, and now this one. Leave it to the Germans. We know how to gross you out on the deepest psychological levels.
Lovecraft worshippers and devotees of German Expressionism alike, take heed: seek out and view this film at your earliest possible convenience. It’s a dark, noisome little gem that will squirm into your subconscious and lay its eggs in your sanity. Hey, not everyone gets the honour of being a host organism for the Elder Gods, you know.'
Wilmette Theater。像Joaquin Phoenix会接的戏（他似乎一直对next generation的生活状态抱有一种悲观主义）一些纪录片技法+声效的运用挺有趣 大小两主演演技极好。黑白美则美也 意义似乎不大 浮于表面形式。不论从剧作 呈现形式 还是主题意义上都略显肤浅。片子像一个休闲下午随意喝了杯淡淡的气泡酒 喝完易忘 甚至不打嗝儿。
一部什么都没讲的治愈系电影，通过用声音记录青少年观点和看法的微纪录片的形式，再加上各类儿童读物里的经典文本，一个分裂的家庭走向平和，菲尼克斯的声音真的好温柔，但是除此之外就再无亮点了。
这么平淡的一部电影，没刻意煽情却给我整落泪了。大人与孩子都在试着教会对方生活，大人不一定时刻聪明，小孩也不一定永远愚笨。

利用音乐与声音把较为零散的生活场景与诗化空镜连接起来，一方面利用纪录片式的采访将一些大的议题抛出并用儿童的口吻去回答；另一方面则在叔叔与小孩相处部分，用录音的连续片段将剪碎的时空串联一起，表现出情绪的流淌。

想起小时候暑期去表姐所在的城市，哪怕我只是跟在她屁股后面去散步都很开心。
很温情，亲密关系的核心是能真实地表达情绪，喜欢两个人在林子里吼着吼着就笑了的那段，最后小侄子问他是否会记得两人发生的这一切，莫名戳中泪点…（是不是艺术家都喜欢思考死亡，trying to turn mundane things into eternity
一部关于倾听、领会、回馈、倾诉的电影。黑白、低锐度的表象引向纷呈的内心色彩。用相互的凝视获得自我了解，当对方是孩子时，更能帮你打开茧缚。影像的钝感看得有点累，沟通不是轻松事。

7.4 显然不是最佳译名，“心门今始为君开/打开心门向天开/告诉我”比较合适，古典音乐、黑白画面、家庭/儿童类型，但何尝不是对话成人。

很喜欢，明明很安静很疏离，但就是在很多个不经意之间，便和电影里一大一小两个人有了某种心灵上的联结，不知不觉的眼泪就是证据。每个人都有许多无法喧诸于口的情绪，但是太需要释放了，只能在彼此理解的过程中，慢慢与自己、与他人、与世界和解。小孩子眼中的未来何尝不是大人曾经幻想过的现在，我唯一存疑的是世界会变更好吗？
论单身男人如何心平气和的带问题过多的孩子。
影像很舒服。人物状态很惬意。故事很松散。不是我的菜。所以对不起。
