The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. 剧情倒是真如片名般顺滑，所以戏剧冲突也始终保持在安全区内，没什么波澜的治愈片。圣丹斯确是偏爱这种电影，但相比之前真是大幅下滑入围标准，至少《我和厄尔及将死女孩》后就再也没看到相同水平的作品。
