《锡尔弗顿之围》根据真实事件改编，影片前半段铺垫过于冗长，最后一幕推向高潮后戛然而止，导演没有过多渲染黑人处境在隔离制度下的凄惨，全靠细节和状态侧面表达，手法细腻，影片整体拍摄还算流畅，追逐戏镜头一气呵成。虽然这部影片集剧情惊悚、动作冲击、视觉特效于一体，但是这部影片给我的感觉很怪异，既展示了种族矛盾又塑造了一种人人友爱的环境，与其说是一部犯罪型影片，更像是一部说教大戏。
