The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 曾经听一个朋友提起过在藏区支教的经历，那是阿里地区的尼玛县，太偏僻太苦了，给孩子们希望，他们会抓住
这一部实在不像一部独立成篇的电影，战争的主题被表现得更像是岛上孩子们看到的“角斗”，缺乏口袋里的战争的那种厚重感。南十字小队也好，开篇的吉姆小队也好通通就是为了送人头来反衬主角们的强大，但做过了就感觉轻飘飘的。啥时候能重置0079啊……
钢弹永恒的反战主题，开扎古的主角都是真男人。
日薄西山的UC的余波，GTO特有的ms拟人化过于严重了，石头哥的扎古被断臂还捂着伤口是EVA吧，最后的白色恶魔的威慑力确实不错
这是好电影，虽然总体上不如《香巴拉信使》，但是真是好电影
这时候白色基地的成员们还是那么年轻朝气，想到10年牺牲的牺牲，隐退的隐退，不免唏嘘感慨
老师永远是这世上最值得信赖的职业，支教老师太伟大了
很不错 比较小众 聚焦藏族支教 让大家看到一个平时关注不到的有笑有泪的故事
偏子供，人物和机体都有太多夸张的动作和表现，完全脱离现实，剧情改编的也较为粗糙，借用了很多GTO的套路，也谈不上有什么主题，总之属于是一部粗制滥造的赶工作品，看看画质就行了，不会二刷。
世界上有很多个门，你打开不同的门就会有不同的风景，有人渴望外面的世界，有人也愿意坚守在这一方土地上，送他们去看这世界。
如果让出生在城市的你选择去边远的藏区支教，你是否会有些犹豫呢？看这个电影，相信你一定会得到答案。
共同谱出了一首令人感动的乐曲
因为向往西藏，本当成记录片看了。没想到这么惊艳。美美的画风，淳朴的人民，没有夸张的渲染。就是想给编剧寄刀片，最后感人哭的不行。有点悲惨！

剧情和题材催泪，分镜和表现力却一般，好在电影很朴实，还是很喜欢的。
人物塑造0分。
这远古画风高清新作，满满的回忆。故事比起0080之类的略显简单，但也比编剧彻底放飞的长篇好。

故事围绕韩老师在藏区支教展开，一直很向往可以远离城市的喧嚣，感动于韩老师的勇气和抉择。影片拍摄跟美，画面很漂亮。
