The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 希伯来宗教传说与数学、其他维度空间结合的尝试，恶魔黑山羊完全没必要出来，就用房屋作为通往无解的异度空间来体现惊悚恐惧会更好。
前半段还在讲一个有点吸引力的故事，后半段就突然开始胡闹了。感觉把能找到的恐怖片音效都用上了，画蛇添足不伦不类。
不算恐怖，就是变态家庭兄弟绑架求租女子，喂给邪神的故事。最后女主黑化，并且成为了这间房子的主人了。
还可以，结尾看着很带感，前期有点墨迹，很多细节处理不好，怪物造型不错。女主住进公寓，公寓两个男主用租客供养蝴蝶怪，蝴蝶怪可以让男主有自愈能力，女主不断收到已死租客鬼魂警告，让观众以为公寓闹鬼，有争议的地方蝴蝶怪只吃被自己幻像迷惑的人，女主摆脱了幻像，蝴蝶怪没吃她，女主干掉两个男主，把其中一个献祭给蝴蝶怪，竟然有了自愈能力，结束，6.8
恐怖片看多了后，有一种怪心态：想看看新故事里编剧有没有再创造～如果还是只靠诡异音效加持，那么作为做家务的伴随，可以减轻干活无趣感。本片这样布景讲究，色调和布光都细腻，画面不反胃的，也适合大白天下饭。
看了一个半小时，伟大的数学家为了救儿子把家装潢成开启链接地狱之门，通往地狱之门的是留声机，之前没成功是每次都打断了留声机数数，最后一次成功播放完房子和地狱之门互通，这个恶魔是我见过最善良的教你数数，数到300万02，这片子太无聊了，我不会忘记今年看的第一部无聊恐怖片

什么玩意，能请个有本科学历的顾问吗？且不说女主把公式抄纸上的时候把散度抄成梯度，就是地上本来的公式都是印错的。什么1N,那明明是从i=1求和到i=n。无语。。。
盒子里的蛾子之神，上下半身反着来，喜欢用屁股吃人头。用活人献祭之后，可以为你治愈一切伤病（不知道能不能赐予荣华富贵，看起来貌似不能？）。随便搜搜看一个人说这是什么玛雅古神，对这方面没啥研究，感觉对这个东西造型设计还挺有意思的。他吃人之前会催眠人，而女主反抗了催眠，神就自己藏起来了，这意思是女主太牛逼了，获得了神的支配权吗？后来男主（？）被吃掉的时候为啥不催眠了哦，就硬生生吃了。
前三分之一比较有意思，到脑袋被撞聪明的数学家那里剧情就开始飘了，后面烂尾。但是景色真的超美。
只有抹去人性，才能在这个残酷的世界强大起来
非常无聊。很无聊。
我恨这部电影，邻家女优都在当妈了，无时无刻都在提醒着我老了
3.5星！关于这种大房子有恶魔的系列恐怖片，这已经还是很不错了，虽然剧情有点模糊，但我看的时候还是把心都揪起来的，再加上这个结尾，觉得这部不至于低于6星，现在能拍出这种已经很不错了，眼光放低点！
什么机罢玩意 还那么多高分？不恐怖就不说了 这剧情是啥？一只来自地狱的山羊怪 从古至今吸走了数以万计的人们 不为献祭 不为力量 只要求让他们在那数数 这他妈是我见过最善良的恶魔了 感动。
前面气氛和铺垫都挺好的，但是为什么不搞个房子是异域空间点之类的也好啊——更有说服力！

另外，蝶神出现的时候把人恶心到了，拿着下流恶心当有趣的恐怖片……还有，片子一直在努力渲染蝶神多么多么邪恶恐怖，电影努力在让观者感觉“一切都是蝶神的错，是蝶神在引诱人类犯罪balabala”，就好像出轨的男人推卸责任而埋怨“自己是无辜的，全怪某个女人勾引他”一样可笑
一小时的前摇也太无聊了，最后女主也变成怪物了吗
