The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 虽然还没搞清楚为什么一言不合就开打，但李美琪这种另类立体感亚裔性冷淡风已经深刻地俘获我的审美了，瘦削冷血却处处流露着令人难以抗拒性感的冷艳美人大致就是如此吧。有点低配版史密斯夫妇的感觉，感觉结局是男主最终彻底陷入对女主的爱所以放了她一马，或者缴械心甘情愿被杀，开放式结局感觉续集有望。核心不错，不是纯枪战或滚床单式歌颂爱情伟大，总在强调人与自己的阴霾过去和解的重要性，不得不说真敢拍，本以为只是在剧中大女主作为亚裔需要抹黑越南彰显西方国家的优越性以摆脱懦弱童年时期留下的心理创伤，现实中演员居然也还真有越南血统！好莱坞美式文化洗脑宣传部真有手段，近年来给诸如李美琪奥卡菲娜吴恬敏这类美籍亚裔女真正有点分量的资源之前，都得先给他们这种抹黑抵制第三世界国家并明目张胆地与自己血统的来源地划清界限的考验。
都2021年了，越南还是法国的殖民地，这个世界根本没有改变过什么，很多人都是白白死去的。
Maggie Q二选一胜者活命，也透着编剧逻辑的敷衍。
佐罗，007，龙叔，李美琪。超级英雄的尽头是东方女性（doge）
制作强大，两大影帝护航，但M.Q撑不起动作女星女主；从海报看得出导演想打造女版《疾速追杀》，不过动作70分，整体合格，风格化出不来（意味着缺乏独特的美学）；最糟糕的还是添油加醋的故事，女主未体验出越南女性的独特性，反而看上去是典型西方女性；最最糟糕的是故事逻辑实在经不起推敲，几个转折点让人摸不着头脑（具体不说了）。实话讲，这故事纯粹按照女版John来拍，突出女杀手的特殊性，打斗和视觉再风格化一些，剪掉无谓的煽情，能打造出系列片（目前看来感觉没有下一部了）。

塞缪尔倒是很适合演这种角色，但是又硬凹什么史密斯夫妇感啊？？？？？不懂这个故事线
为Maggie Q 加到5星～ 喜欢她各个款式的帽子，每一款我都想要！节奏和配乐不错
从题材到类型元素都像是对90年代动作片的一种回归，但置于当下的大环境却不可避免的变了味，MQ角色塑造的浮夸和空洞是影片很大的问题

Mr Cool的这嘴，干净过吗哈啊哈哈一帮老戏骨了真是蛮搞笑的～～～Samuel Jackstones 的basement floor也是惊艳的不行！我也好喜欢Maggie‘s house！“在London买下一家古书珍藏书店”、还有比这更愉快的人生吗！！！这部片子美翻了！！各个景和设定；美琪女士拍戏维持状态也是够狠哎。

武戏正常水平，文戏拖沓不知所云，好莱坞商业片
是不是没人跟李美琪搭戏了，竟然找个七十几岁的男人来做床戏！剧情松垮，唯一撑起看片欲望的是动作戏！
我的天呐，懵懵的看完，完全不知道讲了个啥。
近年来流行的大女主动作片，最大的看点是Maggie Q保持了一如既往的飒爽身手，有点尼基塔大电影版的感觉......剩下的内容就乏善可陈了，当娱乐片凑合能看完...
电影多少有点模仿史密斯夫妇的意思，俩人对决那来来回回就对到床上了。影片里一众老戏骨，显得李美琪还是那么年轻，虽然应该也40大几了，在里面完全看不出来，是最年轻的。反派都有点弱鸡，水平不咋样，吹牛逼第一名，男主不应该算是个叛徒吗？最后的枪声给了悬念，从身影上看是女的出来了，怎么说呢，前半程挺利落的特工片，后半程有点扯淡。最喜欢她的书店，是真的喜欢
